The 1x8 SC/UPC ABS Box PLC Fiber Splitter provides one optical input and eight output connections in a protected module format for fiber distribution projects. The PLC splitter is housed inside a compact ABS enclosure, with external fiber leads providing access to the input and output channels. This configuration is commonly used where a preassembled 1x8 splitting point needs to be installed inside a fiber distribution box, cabinet, enclosure or other protected network location without using a larger rack-mounted splitter assembly.

For project installation, the splitter should be matched to both the optical design and the available enclosure space. In addition to the 1x8 split configuration and SC/UPC interface, the input and output pigtail construction, fiber type, pigtail diameter and pigtail length can affect routing inside the distribution hardware. The required optical performance should also be defined according to the project specification rather than assumed from the package type alone. This is especially important when several splitters will be installed across repeated cabinets, access points or distribution locations using the same layout.

For bulk and project orders, the approved configuration should define the split ratio, connector interface, fiber type, input and output pigtail construction, pigtail length and required optical performance before production. Once these items are confirmed, they should remain consistent across the batch so the supplied splitters follow the same installation and connection requirements. A fixed configuration also provides a clearer reference for quotation, project delivery and repeat orders when additional units are required later.
